Once made only from goats milk (‘gjet’ = goat) it is eaten with jam on bread for breakfast in Norway. This creamy and fudge-like cheese is truly unusual and a definite case of ‘love it or hate it’. The maturing process of this unique cheese is very short and literally a matter of days, not weeks or months.
You could be brave and Norwegian and serve it along side a slice of fruit cake for dessert or simply have it on your cheese board as a guaranteed talking point.
