A creamy, medium strong cheddar from Somerset, Godminster has been certified organic since 1999. It has a sharp edge which is balanced beautifully by the soft mellow creaminess. Full of flavour but not too strong this cheddar is a real treat.
Godminster Vintage Organic is made in Somerset to a 70 year old recipe, aged for at least 12 months and wrapped in purple wax to protect all that tangy creaminess.
What with? Godminster makes a sublime Welsh Rarebit. This creamy cheddar is also great with a hearty Chutney or Pickle or even a slice of fruit cake. Your (preferably red) wine will need some strength to cope with this mature cheddar. Go for a Bordeaux, Rioja or Chianti.
